so i finally got suspended from X and here is the kicker …
i googled it and they will keep charging me $3 / month premium subscription forever and there is no way to cancel it because you need to get an account back in order to cancel the subscription and as we know nobody has ever gotten an account back just by appealing the suspension …
it’s such a widespread scam that even AI knows about it and tells you point blank that they will just keep charging you …
people on REDDIT are calling this criminal and i agree but then again everything Elon Musk does is criminal so obviously i am not surprised …
i called my credit card and they said they wrote a note about it but i will need to wait until the next billing date then check my credit card statement and if i am charged then call them again and THEN they can do something about it … this is fairly typical in these situations where you think the scammers will do a fraudulent charge but it hasn’t actually happened yet …

so i had to wait for X to charge me before i could dispute the charge and they were charging me every month on the 14th so today i went to check and sure enough - they charged me !

When you build a reputation like this you are thinking LONG TERM. Your brand should be your biggest asset. it gives a link to a page you can’t find otherwise. even then when i tried to cancel it kept giving me errors like “oops something went wrong” but then somehow something got me to a page where it finally allowed me to cancel, but only after they already charged me TWICE after i was suspended and of course there are no refunds …
in retrospect it had to be illegal for them to make canceling impossible so what they did is make it EFFFECTIVELY impossible while TECHNICALLY possible.
kind of like Tesla’s AutoPilot when it drives you into a wall if you press the brake just before impact in court they say “our logs indicate AP was not engaged at the time of the crash” because pressing the brake cancels AP … so technically true … it was not engaged at the literal moment of the crash … that doesn’t mean it didn’t drive you into a wall …
and of course Tesla doesn’t share the logs with anybody …

when i finally managed to cancel it - it said that it will cancel on my next billing date - i won’t be surprised if it charges me AGAIN before canceling for good but if it cancels at all at this point i will be happy.
on a related note i recently had to cancel my gym in NJ because i moved to Florida and they also tried to fuck with me. they said because i didn’t give them a 30 days notice i will be charged one more time unless i bring proof that i moved to another state.
i did bring proof and they cancelled it but this is still BS.
