Well, I have had an action-packed summer so far too, and not in a good way. A family member has some health problems since June and at the beginning of July I had to take several trips to the hospital myself. Then on July 4th I woke up with a painfully swollen lymph node and I got paranoid thinking it’s cancer… But I found a bull’s eye rash on my leg and realized it’s the beginning of Lyme disease. Which is still quite serious if it progresses. So I had to go on antibiotics which nuked my stomach…
Up until that point, in June, my digital detox had been going well and I was making real progress on updating my coding skills. But since that time I lapsed back into wasting time online. However, what I found is basically the same thing you did. I can’t tolerate politics anymore, I was able to follow it for a few days at most before I felt nauseated. All of a sudden it looks like Trump will win again, but they are probably trying to find a way to make MAGA into a pro-war, pro-immigration, pro-Israel movement and I have no interest in that. What’s interesting is that most “steps in the right direction” lately were made by leftists anyway – they have been trending toward supporting racial segregation (nominally to help blacks) and outspoken criticism of Israel. But note that I don’t believe in ideology, we just have to deal with it because normies are tribal and it’s how they think.
I’ve been trending away from politics for sometime, though – this is not new. I spoke about it on my account. The idea was that economic trends seemed more important to me than anything political and I still think so. Basically if Tate and Adams are redpilling normies on race, there’s not much more to be done. X is not edgy anymore, it’s mostly quite boring. The average level of content is not good, especially anything that goes viral. It’s good for keeping up with people like Chris Masterjohn and that circle however, or AI girls. But what I’m coming to understand is that Dissident Sound is a place for avant-garde types, we’re suited for being on the bleeding edge of culture, not engaging with the masses. We inform those who later become leaders of the masses. It’s sometimes possible for high IQ types to become leaders of the masses too, but they do it via propaganda and I don’t have that personality type like a Julius Caesar.
My first visit to white nationalist forums was in the late 2000s. In those days, the Christian stuff would’ve been laughed out of town. The spiteful mutants have always been a part of it, but back then the top 10% were atheist/Nazi/pagan and they were interested in ideas like your “pro-white progressivism”. Among my friends in those circles, there was a Russian guy who now has a PhD in Chemistry, a South African guy who had a PhD in Physics, etc. Just a completely different world. The “white sharia” thing of today is a 180 from those days. I didn’t mind the old Frog Twitter, because BAP’s old circle were more like the old days of WN; they weren’t religious and the top guys weren’t spiteful mutants, and you could actually talk to them reasonably. The situation today for “our side” is very different. It is indeed best that Neoliberalism and the WEF are in power, as bad as they are – the alternatives would be worse.
Marcus Aurelius (since Stoics were brought up) said that by the time you get past 40, you’ve seen most of what life has to offer and the rest is more of the same. I am getting close to that time and I have to agree. Now, my interest is turning to what I want to accomplish for the rest of the time. For the short term, I have some projects I have to get done before summertime is over that I’ve been putting off, I want to stay with coding, and I have been going to the gym and the dance hall mostly 1x/week each for a while. These are all worth doing for now. Longer term, I will have to think, plan and strategize. Which won’t happen if I stay addicted to social media.
