i don’t need to explain to you why Elon moved the factory and headquarters from California to Texas - any idiot knows that
what i want to explain is why he specifically chose Austin over Houston or Dallas
a few factors:
1 - Austin is Texas Capitol ( convenient for bribing officials )
2 - University of Texas at Austin means supply of high IQ young people
3 - Colorado River ( to dump toxic waste into )
but more importantly it’s the very unique geography whereby the south-east side of Austin is a flat as a pancake desert and the north-west side is mountains covered with trees and a river winding through them …
why is this important ?
flat desert pancake allows for both an airport and a giant flat factory right next to it … so it’s quick for elon to drop in on his employees in his private jet …
Elon also officially registered a $30,000 house behind the factory as his place of residence but of course he doesn’t live in some single wide trailer in a desert …
Instead the north-west Austin is beautiful picturesque landscape virtually indistinguishable from Beverly Hills so Elon can feel right at home there …
so that’s really it - the reason Elon chose Austin is its Jekyll and Hyde nature where it has two clearly delineated parts - one perfect for Latino workers to build cars and the other for white executives to fuck escorts in their mansions …
i can’t think of any other city where the line is so clear cut - it’s like some space aliens used a giant laser to cut the city in half - right across the colorado river, which also happens to delineate between forest covered mountains and a dry desert …
Elon had major problems building a factory in Germany because they wouldn’t give him the permit to cut the trees to make room for the factory - no such problems in a desert !
and his Mexican workers can’t make it up the mountains to disturb their overlords because you can only get up so high on a bicycle …
