Robot Soccer

what i find impressive about this video is that unlike the Boston Dynamics videos this doesn’t look staged

anybody can create an impressive staged demo but real life is different

this video looks like real life - and it looks organic.

current industrial robots are programmed to perform precise movements. if something is off by even 1 millimeter they will fail. you can’t program a robot like that to tie shoelaces because every foot is slightly different and so on.

but these soccer robots - whatever tech they run on - can be made to tie shoelaces. because their behavior is obviously analog. they may stumble a few times tying shoelaces but they will eventually get it.

whereas a traditional robot will NEVER get a peg into a hole if the alignment is off by a fraction of an inch.
