heh i didn’t realize Harman now also owns Bowers & Wilkins but it makes perfect sense.
B&W is now positioned as an upgrade from Harman in BMW and Volvo car audio systems and also at Best Buy when shopping for things like TV soundbars.
both Harman and Bowers car audio systems are really good and the reason is digital signal processing and tuning as well as Harman’s expertise. still idiots think they can “upgrade” those systems by buying more expensive drivers. These fools do not understand the enormous budget Harman has for tuning those systems which your local car audio shop will never do properly.
yes the margins on some of these Harman and especially Bowers systems are insane. i actually stuck with the Harman system in my car instead of paying $3,500 to upgrade to Bowers because i know there was maybe $100 difference in cost to build those two systems and also very obviously they were designed by the same team and i auditioned both of them and the difference was marginal.
and yet, you would still get a much better deal paying that $3,500 for the Bowers upgrade than gutting the Harman system and building your own custom system, because in all likelihood no matter how much money you spent it wouldn’t even be as good as the Harman system it replaced - just louder.
unfortunately you cannot tell this to Audiophiles who choose to live in a world of make belief where sound quality comes from using silver cables and film capacitors. in the real world sound quality comes from digital signal processing, tuning and calibration.
as for the acquisitions - yeah Harman ( now Samsung ) is basically the VolksWagen Group of Audio
basically the same 4.0L V8 is inside Audi RS7, Panamera, Cayenne, Bentley and Lambo URUS - it is the smart way to do things - why reinvent the wheel ? some people want to pay more money and for them there is Bentley, Urus or Balenciaga shoes etc.
i don’t blame them. If i was rich i would also get the more expensive version - why not ?
likewise clearly the Harman and Bowers systems in BMWs are developed in parallel just like Cayenne and Urus are related. this isn’t cheating - it’s just being smart. you develop one approach that fundamentally works from engineering perspective and then you sell it in different flavors at different price points.
everybody does that. it’s just like how Camaro always used the engine from Corvette but the same engine always made more power in Corvette than Camaro keeping in line with the idea that you get better quality when paying more even though it costs the same to make.
of course people who pay for the more expensive version never like admitting the relationship to the lesser model. this is why they get so upset when they see VolksWagen buttons in their Lambo. this is also why they love Pagani because it doesn’t have VolksWagnen buttons.
but reality is unique doesn’t mean better. in fact the more mass market products tend to be more reliable. unique is good for the ego but i personally always want the most mass market, the least original, the most derivative product that does what i need it to do.
innovation, originality and uniqueness should serve a purpose. if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. don’t reinvent the wheel.

I presume you mean Mandarin though, not Cantonese which is spoken in the southern regions and is not very pleasant to the ears.
As for Jewish influence in China and Russia, I also do not know – I think Russia at least must have it but they don’t seem able to cause as much trouble over there for some reason. China is especially opaque because their regime is extremely secretive and censorious.
PS Russia actually has the most censored internet on earth now, surpassing China, however I assume that is because of the ongoing wartime situation there, but it is remarkable how quickly that was rolled out. Something similar may happen here soon.

i actually noticed the version of Spanish taught by Babbel is slightly different from one taught by Rosetta Stone … because Spanish in Spain and Mexico are different just like English in US, UK and Australia is different …
but ultimately a person from Australia is still going to be able to communicate in US …
also Ukraine has banned Russian language but i assure you a Russian speaker would still be able to communicate with a Ukrainian ( unless he was killed first ).
i still have a Russian accent for example - every American i speak to immediately notices my accent - but they have no problem understanding me or me understanding them.
and the Characters are the same for all dialects except that there are simplified and traditional characters with mainland using simplified and other regions still using traditional.
basically i just don’t think about this at all. i just study Mandarin and Simplified characters and i assume that knowledge will carry over to whatever i end up actually using.

yes it is interesting how censorship seems to go after different objectives in different regions even if all these regions are run by Jews
