my offer on a house in Orlando was accepted
although things can go wrong with inspection or financing i am guessing about 70% probability it will close in about a month
this was my 1st choice home, in other words it was the first offer i had made. the house i’m in now in NJ was also my 1st choice and the 1st offer i had made.
there are other parallels to the last house ( one i’m in now ) as well. in that i was looking for something else completely and then i saw it and was like - i can’t let this get away - i don’t care if that’s not what i need or that i can’t afford it - i am not letting it get away.
the one thing both houses have in common is they have a weak facade that looks cheap on the picture and you’re like “the square footage has got to be a typo - it looks half the size that they claim it to be” and then you get there and the square footage is correct, it’s just that the facade somehow doesn’t match the actual size of the house due to the way it is built.
this goes to show that most people aren’t shopping for a house - they are shopping for a facade.
in fact based on my experience from the last home i knew this would be the case. i knew the experience would be a repeat of the last one. i knew the final house would look so busted on the website picture that i would completely overlook it and not even want to tour it, but then it would surprise me once i’m inside.
both homes are designed in such a way that there is no way to guess what they’re like inside from the facade. even the Nigger movers told me this when i was moving into the house i’m in now - they said “the house looked small until we got inside”
so this, frens, is the hack that allows you to get a bigger house than you can otherwise afford. but of course the flip side comes when it’s time to sell it. do not expect to get paid for the interior of the home while selling such a house - you will be paid only for the small, cheap facade just as when you were buying it.
not sure what that says about people - does it mean they are all stupid or they are all vain ? probably both !
PS: i will of course give an update if / when it closes.
