F1 currently uses a V6 and was supposed to go to 4 cylinder next …

but apparently between nobody watching Formula E and nobody buying C63 E-Performance they realized nobody wants that shit …

we are in the middle of a swing back to big engines after enthusiasts have rejected engine downsizing … but this probably won’t manifest itself in Europe or China because those are totalitarian regimes and don’t give a fuck what the peasants want …

the C63 E-Performance really was using F1 tech with its hybrid drive and electric turbo … then F1 dropped the electric turbo in 2026 and Mercedes killed C63 in US …

the drivetrain was too expensive for F1 teams and too complicated for C63 customers to understand so now we’re going back to the basics across the board …

F1 had electric turbo from 2014 to 2025 which in retrospect will be known as peak technology era … now we’re going back to the stone age because moron humans like everything to be as simple as they are …

Trump also recently killed the start / stop tech in US in yet another sign of the cattle revolting against technology because they are afraid of it …

The average person is afraid of Hybrids and especially plug-in Hybrids. They keep making retard noises trying to explain to me why PHEVs bad but the real reason is they’re just stupid and afraid.

they have begrudgingly accepted EVs when they realized that EVs were just mobility scooters with 1,000 horsepower and they were not afraid of mobility scooters so they said maybe EVs are OK.

they also accepted regular hybrids because Prius has been around since late 90s and everybody has rode in a Camry Hybrid Uber so maybe regular hybrids are not that scary …

plug in hybrids though ? what kind of European Voodoo is that ? G-dless Europeans must have teamed up with SATAN do devise such unholy technology ! ! !

i should point out the fear of technology is not inherently irrational

for example the fear of GMO and MRNA is rational

fear isn’t really the issue here - ignorance and stupidity are

and yes there are real problems with some of these technologies like PHEV namely:

1 - condensation. PHEV engines often never reach high enough temperature ( because they barely ever run ) to boil off condensation from the engine oil causing oil to turn to shit.

2 - never heard reports of this but theoretically gas in the tank should break down from sitting too long. gas has a finite shelf life that AI says is 3 to 6 months and my last tank has been sitting for over a month and is still 95% full …

but i consider these teething pains that will eventually get worked out and not reason to avoid the technology … by contrast the average dumb fuck thinks PHEV should be avoided because it is “too complicated”

perhaps the biggest argument against PHEVs is that people simply never plug them in. which is true. most people both statistically and anecdotally do not plug their PHEVs in. this is certainly a valid reason for governments to stop subsidizing them but it is not a valid reason for you not to get one if you ARE going to be plugging it in.

unfortunately such a distinction is too subtle for joe average the dumb fuck. to the average moron something is either good or bad - no nuance or context allowed.

as far as joe dumb fuck is concerned PHEV = TOO COMPLCIATED = NOT FULLY ELECTRIC = BAD

PHEVs are 1% of the market in US right now which roughly coincides with percentage of people who have a brain.

if there is one thing i learned from decades of debating people about speakers and cars is that people who are not engineers are not physically capable of understanding these things and don’t even try to - yet still believe they know better than me.

it’s the same as how Liberals who never took any science classes wear “i fucking love science” T-Shirts and tell you to take the Vaccine and “stay the fuck home” because they consider themselves ambassadors of “the science” and consider me, a science genius, an “ignoramus” because i don’t automatically believe “the experts” on TV.

it is EXACTLY THE SAME when it comes to loudspeakers and cars. the average subhuman dumb fuck simply absorbs “common knowledge” by osmosis and believes you are insane if you actually try to think instead of regurgitating what everybody says.

at first it was “EVs are the future” that everybody had to repeat and nobody could question … now it’s “PHEV bad” …

over the years i have asked people hundreds of times to explain to me how and why they know that “EVs are the future” … never got a response even once. reality is they simply repeat words - no brain activity is taking place - there isn’t even anybody home.

Whether it is Global Warming, COVID, War on Terror, EVs - anything at all - people simply repeat lines that are given to them. that’s all they do. literally. this is why they think AI is intelligent because AI also does that - it repeats information fed into it - and the average person believes this is intelligence - in fact they were taught in school that this is what intelligence is.

so if you think critically they believe you are insane.

and as i mentioned if you ask them to walk you through their thought process they simply continue repeating memorized lines because what else would they do ? parrots is what they are.

now PHEVs do have one downside that gives me personally pause … and it is something NOBODY talks about … and that’s the fact that in electric mode PHEVs are FAR LESS EFFICIENT than pure EVs …

it is hard to say why that is the case because as i said NOBODY discusses this …

you might think with all the hate PHEVs get their haters would pick up on the fact that efficiency of PHEVs in electric mode is something like HALF that of EVs … but reality is concepts like efficiency are high IQ concepts and thus they bounce clean off smooth brains …

i have come up with some potential explanations though:

1 - PHEVs use cheaper electric motors and inverters
2 - motors in PHEV often have to work through geared transmissions with added friction
3 - PHEVs typically do not have smooth aerodynamic underbody like EVs do
4 - PHEVs do not typically run on the same low rolling resistance tires as EVs

so unsurprisingly i can list AT LEAST TWICE as many arguments against PHEVs as people who believe PHEVs are the satan … but i still believe PHEVs are the best.

Thomas Sowell said that he always made his students understand both sides of any argument … certainly this is not how anybody else teaches … everybody else just makes students memorize arguments why one side is correct. I think that is admirable of Sowell except that there are MANY sides, not two. And you should understand arguments for and against ALL sides.

In fact not only am i more interested in arguments AGAINST plug in hybrids but i am THE ONLY ONE who is interested in arguments against plug in hybrids. everybody else just bleats “too complicated” or “worst of both worlds” as goats - but those aren’t arguments - that’s literally just retard noises.

I think it comes down to the fact that people are lazy, I dont want to fill up a car w gas and have it hooked up to a charger (or charge it at public locations when you dont have a house and live in a building) thus people just go either gas or EV.

re V8 in F1… nobody is watching it for sports…bring back the 80s, minimum rules, no restrictions, push the limits to retard levels so its a show with crashes and explosions then people will watch it and wear Senna tshirts.

LOL yeah between the push for safety and the push for hybridization / fuel economy in F1 they killed the sport …

there was a brief period of time i watched F1 just so i could have an informed opinion about it but i stopped and just watch UFC now …

but even if F1 did everything right i am not sure car racing has the potential for being interesting … maybe in the old days when cars were a novelty and most were slow as shit it was interesting … but when you can buy a 200 mph car like Corvette why watch F1 race at 200 mph …

there is really nothing they can do IMO - cars just aren’t sexy anymore unless you’re a 12 year old …
