mostly consists of semi-random conversations about life, death, money and sex
a reasonable amount of sex in this film, a limited amount of violence and occasionally humorous
seems to have been influenced by American Psycho ( 2000 )
and equally by Pi ( 1998 )
i also thought the film was a response to Occupy Wall Street:
but apparently the filming actually completed 2 months before OWS protests began … but was released after the OWS …
in either case the film does NOT directly address the crash of 2008 …
i think the reason for low ratings is people expected some kind of plot and action whereas it’s really a dialogue driven philosophical film - there is not a lot of action and the plot isn’t even supposed to make any sense …
i don’t think there is any real message either it’s just reflective / meditative in nature …
