yes obviously we can’t keep adding lanes forever.
yes it is better to depopulate / cull the herd than keep building new cities.

so yes, widening roads isn’t my preferred solution. my preferred solution is to seal the border.
but as long as the border isn’t sealed roads and cars is our best shot at having a life worth living. and wider roads give us a better shot than narrower ones.

I’m not going to respond to any points about getting rid of cars, forcing people to live like sardines in places like New York, living in villages, etc.
You were onto something when you acknowledged that you shouldn’t be stranded if your car breaks down because you are in an area completely unnavigable by anything other than a car. Follow that train of logic and you will realize how retarded it is to build cities that make everyone depend on cars for everything. Maybe when you move out of the New York area and into one of these places it will be easier to understand.
