Rear-engined cars

But let’s be real: it’s only a rigorous adherence to tradition that’s led to Porsche doggedly sticking with an engine slung out behind the rear axle and refining it to such brilliant effect, rather than just switching to a front- or mid-engined layout decades ago like all its rivals did.
Indeed the 911 is just an overgrown VW Beetle that was commissioned by Der Führer himself. This format was intended by Hitler to be a family car with two child seats in the back which is what 911 still has, except that nobody actually uses the 911 as a family car ( well i saw one nigger who had his kids in the back of a vintage 911 but Nigger fathers do not count ).
If you do not need the rear seats in your supercar just put the engine in the middle where it belongs and where every other supercar places it including Porsche for their non 911 cars.
From the entry level 718 to the Halo Carrera GT and 918 even Porsche puts the engines in the middle … except in the 911 …
Now the 911 does benefit from larger development budget than most other supercars which used to be enough to keep it relevant until C8 Corvette came along now the 911 is only really relevant outside of US
I think you would have to be insane to pick any version of 911 over C8 Corvette if you live in USA
I also do not see any new 911s any more now that C8 has been out in a variety of configurations. I see a lot of older 911s but you simply get more car for the money with C8 if you live in USA.
The 911 is now strictly for people who want a manual transmission since 911 is the most traditional supercar and probably will keep a manual option until it is discontinued.
So yeah 911 is still “cool” because Heritage and because Manual but it is not a modern car anymore - it is a WW2 era Beetle tuned with the latest German engineering.

Yoke steering (hopefully)
We can only keep our fingers crossed. Yoke-based steering is still too new an idea to really say if it’s just a passing fad or something that’s here to stay, but we hope it’s the former. Not that there’s anything wrong with the steer-by-wire systems that facilitate a yoke’s use – in fact, they have huge potential to provide much more depth and variability to the way a car drives – but is there anything wrong with them being controlled by, y’know… a steering wheel?
i asked Google AI why F1 uses Yoke and it said because there is no room for a wheel:
there is plenty of room for a steering wheel in a Tesla but Elon knows people who buy Teslas are children and will be like " wowza so kewl it has a yoke like F1 "
honestly i feel more sorry for people in Teslas than people in Wheelchairs because it is better to be physically disabled than mentally disabled.
driving a Tesla or using Apple is like wearing a giant sign that says " i have stunted development "
The only people I know personally who drive Teslas are a Chinaman and a guy who listens to Nick Fuentes.
Most people I know have Apple devices - surprisingly I know a few women who use Android (but most foids love them some Apple).

Apple and Tesla are to me are very similar but Apple is measured in their BS while Elon has no brakes.

Not anymore as of 2024. I went back to writing PHP apps at work because my bosses didn’t like the way mobile phone development was going with the Big Tech companies taking a bigger and bigger cut and exercising more and more control over apps. Since Android is now effectively a closed ecosystem - as of this month ! - perhaps this was a wise choice to go web first. Originally we had been mobile-first like Instagram.
I still use Android in my personal life of course.

yeah i use web whenever i can. only use apps for things that NEED to be mobile.
but i grew up before smartphones. i think kids lean more heavily on phones and Mexican illegals do not own computers at all - only phones.
of course you can run web stuff on a phone too but i only did it for GAB and PornHub because Google store would not allow those
interesting re Xiaomi, didnt know they actually re did how the conventional aluminum car is welded together from stamped pieces. The way theyve been observing how western companies develop things while putting together all our products and copying the know how, after 30 years they are finally developing their own shit…just like a painter or any artist starts by copying others to learn and then develops their own style… we are fucked meanwhile, spent all our resources on eliminating goyim through various means…

Tesla has all that stuff too - the gigacasting and the structural battery - and the 3 motor drivetrain
it’s just that SU7 has 1,500 hp versus 1200 hp for Lucid and 1,000 hp for Plaid, so obviously it beats those cars
as for weld points creating a weakness yes - with insufficient number of weld points your structure will be compromised - so for example Lexus ES and Toyota Camry are very similar overall but one difference is Lexus has more weld points and thus overall higher quality chassis
here is a video of Toyota using LASERS to weld:
the benefit of Laser is it is much faster so it can have more weld points in the same period of time. the Video dude said SU7 rolls off assembly every 70 seconds - well the Camry rolls off assembly line every 60 seconds.
overall it’s not that the guy who is doing these videos is wrong - it’s just that he is too hype about it all IMO. you actually have the same personality as him. it is probably your source of strength - your ability to get excited about things.
i am more of a skeptic. i tend to view stuff like this as marketing hype. to be honest i would have gotten excited about this if Toyota did this because they are a serious company but because i first learned about Gigacasting and structural batteries a couple years ago from Elon’s presentation i immediately put those things into “hype” category where i automatically put everything from Elon.
and this Xiaomi SU7 is too similar to Tesla from overall body shape to glass roof to dispel this idea in my mind that this is all Elon fuckery.
however i have historically at times been TOO pessimistic so this may very well be my personal negativity. it is hard to say whether this is the breakthrough Elon, Xiaomi and your Video Boy say it is or it is marketing hype like my gut instinct originally was.
probably it is both to be honest.
I wonder if Elon finally used AI to redesign typical production line (of course just an AI video for now but if the Q model is going to be a reality that will be quite interesting for the plebs). Re model Y he is copying that Xiaomi production design (from video above) that nets fewer welded parts, thus more rigid structure etc.
i fucking hate Elon and Tesla so i am not watching a nearly 40 minute video for Tesla Fanboys sorry
as for Tesla copying Xiaomi yes that thought has crossed my mind - could be
the Taycan is also similar shape and has the same glass roof … heck every car now has that fixed glass roof … so they’re all copying each other
the difference is some companies like Toyota fundamentally are interested in making useful products - while others like Tesla are at best interested in delivering gimmicky products and at worst just empty promises

as for whether AI can redesign the production line to improve it ? i don’t know. i just started studying AI again recently. i am overall skeptical about AI as far as what it can do now, but we have to remember how new that technology still is.
to dismiss AI would be to run the risk of being like Krugman here:
one of the biggest regrets of my life is that i stopped studying AI after taking it as a class in college …
just want to mention that rigidity and strength are completely different things.
glass is rigid but weak. spring steel is flexible but strong.
wheels in a car are cast aluminum and are very rigid but when you watch crash test videos they usually shatter. pay attention in the following video to what happens to the wheel in slow motion:
granted, they are DESIGNED to shatter in such a crash, but still - cast aluminum is rigid but weak. it cracks.
these gigacastings are more or less the same. some people speculated these cars would be unrepairable with minor accidents causing cracks that can’t be fixed. Tesla Fanboys claim they now have data proving these gigacastings are CHEAPER to repair than regular steel bodies but most of what they said in the past was either a lie or the opposite of the truth so i am skeptical.
i also question whether a car actually NEEDS to be so rigid. cars are getting more rigid overtime but i wonder if this is mainly to pass crash tests and is simply being marketed as having a benefit for handling.
i am going to go ahead and guess that all modern cars are rigid enough for handling purposes. in fact handling is mostly down to the tires and electronic stability control.
and even if there was a benefit 99.99% of people do not need a car that handles better than Toyota Camry. in fact most people drive SUVs that handle WORSE.
you need to ask what do people actually need or want ? only Toyota actually asks that question.
the question Elon asks is “what BS would impress / excite fanboys and investors ?”

i much preferred the “Tesla is Doomed” essays on Seeking Alpha to these “OMG Tesla is going to disrupt the industry again in 2027 this is our year!” videos on YouTube but i must admit both are equally BS and the “Tesla is Doomed” crowd got burned the worst.
although i am done with Lyn Alden she described Elon perfectly as a “MEME-Momentum Player”
