adopting a new editing style for this site …

i can be quite verbose and post walls of text just to vent basically but luckily i can also later go back and delete those walls …

that’s what i did here - deleted several pages of text plus a dozen images because design has evolved and all that previous information was no longer relevant …

the most recent design iteration seen above supports:

  • two D5 pump / reservoir combos / loops
  • four 360mm radiators
  • EATX motherboard
  • can be converted to air-cooled design with full size CPU and GPU air coolers

main plywood chassis dimensions: 18" x 19.4" x 30"

or with 3" casters and ( externally mounted ) 60mm thick radiators ( not shown ): 25" x 23" x 30"

i have 26" of height clearance under the table so it can roll under the table.

one reason i couldn’t use Thermaltake W200 chassis is it was 27" tall …

i haven’t designed left, right and top covers yet but i have reserved space for them and they are not necessary anyway …

i am considering plywood, acrylic, perforated aluminum sheet and stainless steel wire mesh for those cover panels …

square panels can also be implemented as two triangles such that for example one triangle is a viewing window and the other is a vent …

a lot of flexibility there since, as i mentioned, these covers aren’t actually necessary …

i have certainly run my MountainMods cases without the panels / covers but i ended up installing them to keep idiots out of my computer’s internals …

in the design you can see there are five sets of three 120mm holes …

four of those are radiators …

but the front three 120mm fans are just to blow air over the motherboard to cool ram, chipset, VRMs and so on …

i also don’t plan to use all four radiators, but only as many as necessary …

it’s good the case supports four just in case …
